One Year Anniversary

July 5th marked our 1st year anniversary since retiring here to Thailand. Our first six months was spent in Bangkok where we attended school learning to read and speak Thai. January 2009 we celebrated the new year with our move north to Chiang Mai.

And what a year it has been! We have found that life here in Chiang Mai is exciting and never boring. We have been so fortunate in meeting and establishing many new friendships through our golf, tennis, and bowling. Through the Chiang Mai ExPats Club we have also met many new friends that come from all parts of the world.

Chiang Mai is renown for it's social life with so many functions, dinners, fund raisers, and cultural events which all seem to surround dinners and music and friends. Never a reason to ever be bored!

Never imagined that once we retired that we would be so busy and active. Often times it's hard to try to get an afternoon nap in before going out in the evenings. Like I've said so many times...this retirement is hard work! But, we love it!
